New Jersey: University Hazing Death
Estate of Deceased College Student v. Rider University, et al. Retained to represent family who lost their son as a result of hazing during the Spring of 2007 at Rider University. Two senior university officials were indicted by a Grand Jury as a result of the hazing death, although the local prosecutor decided later to dismiss the indictment. Civil claims have been filed against the University, national and local fraternity chapter, and numerous individuals, including school officials and local fraternity officers. In August 2010, the family attended the placement of a plaque at Rider University in their son's honor. The plaque was created and placed as one of many non-monetary conditions settlement with the University.
